Dr. Zakir Hussain Rather is a highly knowledgeable professional with expertise in various aspects of power systems and renewable energy integration. He has specialized in grid integration of renewables, system integration of renewables, power system dynamics and control, electric vehicle grid integration, wide area measurement systems, smart grid, microgrid, and demand side response/management. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark, and a PDF from the Electricity Research Centre at UCD, Ireland, Dr. Rather has a strong academic background in power systems. Dr. Rather has made significant contributions to the field of renewable energy integration and power systems through his research publications. His work on voltage control ancillary service from wind power plants, published in the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, demonstrates his expertise in optimizing wind farm operation to provide stable voltage control. Additionally, his research on a novel wind farm control strategy to mitigate voltage dip-induced frequency excursions and the selection of suitable wind turbines for wind farms showcases his practical approach to addressing challenges in renewable energy integration.
