Mili is Managing Director of Green Business Certification Institute Pvt Ltd, India and Senior Vice President, USGBC. In her current role, Mili is responsible for the development, adaptation and outreach of LEED and other sustainability rating systems of GBCI and USGBC. She leads the LEED for Cities and Communities program at the global level. She is also responsible for customer coordination, education, training, and the developing of market adoption tools. She is adept at leading research programs and studies on sustainable buildings, health, well-being and resilience. An architecture graduate and a building technologies specialist, Mili has more than three decades of experience in the field of energy and environment with a focus on sustainable development of habitats. She has worked tremendously in the sectors of green buildings, climate resilient housing, city planning and urban transportation. She has led global teams to develop a portfolio of sustainability rating systems for habitats and allied systems that have been widely accepted in India and globally. She is a member of the Committee for the formulation of energy conservation building codes for India, Member of the Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for revision and updating of the National Building Code of India. She is a Board Member of Global Buildings Performance Network, Paris and GBCI, India. As a sustainability expert leading India’s thrust towards green buildings, Mili has been awarded the Construction World Woman of the Year 2011 by ASAPP media, Realty Plus Woman Icon in Sustainability 2021. She is widely travelled and has lectured in several national and international seminars and conferences. She is a music enthusiast and passionate about gardening, travelling and exploring heritage.
