T and D Professional, Power Systems Expert, Larsen and Tourbo

Amitabh Singhal is a T&D (Transmission and Distribution) professional and power systems expert from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has over 32 years of experience in the T&D industry, with expertise in substation design, HVDC system design, simulation studies, and power system consulting.Singhal is currently working as the Head of Products (Digital Energy Grid Services) for Larsen & Toubro, a multinational engineering, construction, and technology company. Prior to this, he worked as an expert for GLG, where he provided guidance to clients in navigating their business challenges in the T&D industry. He was also the Head of Power Systems for Sterlite Power, where he was responsible for enhancing power carrying capacity of transmission lines and corridors through power systems studies, identifying new technologies for business improvement, managing technology partnerships with international partners, and supporting tendering and project teams through design and engineering.Singhal spent the majority of his career at GE T&D India Limited, where he held various leadership roles such as General Manager - Operations, Service Business. He led a team of around 170 persons with a portfolio of $30 million, responsible for executing all service jobs including substation renovation, modernization & extension jobs, product field services, long term operation & maintenance contracts, transformer repair at workshop, product spares, power system consulting and technical training.Singhal holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) and has experience working on various projects ranging from 33 kV up to 400 kV AC Substations and 200 kV & 500 kV HVDC Systems.
