Dr. Suresh Jain is Professor at the Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). He had received his Ph.D. degree in air quality modelling for urban transport emissions from Civil Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Master of Technology in Environmental Engineering and Management from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. Prof. Jain has more than 18 years of research, teaching, and consultancy experience in the area of Air Quality Management, Net Zero Transportation, Environmental Policy Assessment, Climate Change Mitigation, Life Cycle Analysis, GHG Accounting and Sustainability Assessment. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, Dr. Jain was Professor at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Dean Academic Affairs at IIT Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. Several of the outputs of the research undertaken by Prof. Jain have fed into various policies introduced by the Government of India like National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), Auto Fuel Vision & Policy 2025, Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) for COP21, implementation of parking prices in Delhi and green initiatives taken by Delhi Metro among others. Prof. Jain is a member of State Level Expert Committee on Environment (SLECE), Government of Andhra Pradesh since November 2019. Prof. Jain is also expert member of BRICS Network University on behalf of Government of India. Prof. Jain was Nodal officer from IIT Tirupati for Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) for implementation of National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) at the state level, nominated by The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India. He is founding member of Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), University of Surrey, UK. He is involved in several international and national projects related to above topics. He is recipient of International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), USA – 2017; Vice-Chancellor’s Faculty of the Year Award – 2017; Commonwealth Professional Fellow 2016-17, UK; KTP Visiting Fellow-2014 by UTS, Sydney; Role of Honor by TERI-2012-13 and earthian-2013 award by Wipro as a part of sustainability program.
