D V Shastry is an Executive Director of the Natural Gas Society, Vice Chairperson of the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), and former Director of GAIL Gas Ltd and ECIL. He has over 36 years of multifarious experience in the natural gas industry in technical and managerial aspects, including project management, operations & maintenance of natural gas pipelines and gas processing plants, learning & development, and HR/HRD. D V Shastry was among the founder members of GAIL and was holding the position of Executive Director (Training, R&D, and Start-Up) at the time of superannuation. He was the leader of the multi-company Task Force constituted by PNGRB for identifying/assessing technical skill gaps in the workforce required for City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector in the country. D V Shastry is affiliated with several professional (technical & management) bodies such as ASME, AIMA, FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, IPE, RGIPT, IIMs, IIPE, FORE, ISTD, SHRM, NIPM, NHRDN, etc. He has received several awards such as the “ISOL Distinguished Scholar” Award, “Asia Pacific Gennext Leadership” Award, “Emerging HRD Thinker” Award, etc. D V Shastry has extensively participated in national and international level conferences/seminars/workshops and L&D programs in Technical, Management, and L&D domains of Natural Gas Business within India and Overseas.
