Jean-Michel Glachant is the Director of the Florence School of Regulation at the European University Institute, where he is also a Professor of European Energy Policy at the Loyola de Palacio Chair. He is the President-elect of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) for 2022 and the former Chief editor of the "Economics of Energy & Environment Policy" journal of IAEE. He has also served as a professor at several universities, including La Sorbonne University, Supélec, and the University Paris Sud. Jean-Michel's research interests are focused on building a common European energy policy, achieving the European energy internal market, and the industrial organization and market strategy of energy companies. He is a member of several advisory boards, steering committees, and scientific committees for various EU research projects, including SESSA, CESSA, Secure, Optimate, EU DEEP, RefGov, and THINK. Jean-Michel is a member of the editorial board of several journals, including "Energy Journal", "Latin American Economic Review", "Annals for Public and Cooperative Economics", "Competition and Regulation in Network Industries", and "Revue d'Economie Industrielle". He has received several awards for his contributions to energy economics and its literature, including the EURELECTRIC Award on EU Energy Regulation and Climate Policy as FSR Director. Jean-Michel is fluent in French and English.
