Director General,All India Discoms Associations (AIDA)
Mr. Alok Kumar is presently working as Director General, All India Discoms Association at Delhi. In addition, he is Professor of Practice in the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy at IIT Roorkee, and also chairs the Inter- Ministerial Working Group set up by NITI Aayog to develop the power sector pathway to achieve Net Zero commitment by India. Member in the national Task Force for developing the roadmap for India Energy Stack and POC for Utility Intelligence Platform, and in CII National Committees on Power, and Renewable Energy In 2025. Independent Director on the Board of Power Exchange India Limited. Has contributed to a number of international projects in the area of electricity and energy transition. He had a 35 year long career in public policy and economic development in India’s premier federal civil service (IAS) reaching up to the distinguished position of Secretary in federal government with extensive experience in electricity, renewable energy, energy transition, infrastructure development and skill development domains. Have led several large commercial organisations as CEO including the distribution utilities of Uttar Pradesh. Key role in formulation and implementation of several national/state level policies, programmes and regulatory interventions.
