Nuclear Physics,Aligarh Muslim University
Dr. Asiya Rummana is a physicist, educator, and researcher specializing in nuclear reactor modelling, particle physics simulations, and advanced energy systems. She currently serves as a Women Scientist (DST) in the Department of Physics at Aligarh Muslim University, India, and as an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, UK. Her research focuses on thorium-fuelled small and micro modular reactors and accelerator-driven systems for clean and scalable energy production. During her PhD in Physics, she conducted simulation studies on the MYRRHA accelerator-driven reactor system, developing expertise in advanced particle simulation tools such as GEANT4 and modelling complex reactor geometries by decoding MCNP-based reactor specifications into detailed Geant4 models, demonstrating the ability to adapt advanced particle simulation tools for complex nuclear reactor studies. Dr. Asiya brings multidisciplinary experience spanning academia, scientific research, and the technology industry. She has over a decade of teaching experience at UATS-Ibra, Oman and previously worked in the IT industry as a Software Engineer at HCL Technologies.
