Ashish Singhal

Executive Director, Allied Engineering Works Limited, India

Mr. Ashish Singhal is a senior industry leader with over 22 years of experience in the electrical engineering and power distribution sector. As the Executive Director of Allied Engineering Works Limited (AEW), he has played a transformative role in shaping the company’s strategy around smart metering, grid digitization, and utility modernization—both in India and international markets. With deep technical expertise and business acumen, Mr. Singhal has successfully led end-to-end implementation of large-scale AMISP projects under India’s national smart metering program (RDSS) and has been instrumental in establishing greenfield manufacturing operations in Gabon (Africa) and Thailand. These ventures reflect his strong capability in navigating diverse regulatory, cultural, and market environments to deliver high-impact engineering solutions. At the 17th LATAM Smart Grid Forum, Mr. Singhal will present on “Advanced Distribution Transformer Monitoring – Enhancing Grid Visibility and Operational Efficiency.” Drawing from real-world deployments and innovation-driven approaches, he will explore how transformer-level monitoring can significantly reduce losses, improve fault detection, and support predictive maintenance strategies—especially in the context of growing distributed energy resources (DERs) and grid stress. His global perspective and hands-on approach make him a key contributor to utility transformation dialogues across emerging and developed economies alike.
