Sumara Duarte Ticom

Executive Advisor- Planning Board,
National System Operator (ONS), Brazil

Electrical Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the power sector, she has been with the Brazilian National Electric System Operator (ONS) since its creation, building a distinguished career in both technical and leadership roles. In 2017, she was appointed Executive Manager of Electrical Planning, where she led the full operational planning chain of the Brazilian Interconnected Power System (SIN), one of the largest and most complex power systems in the world. Since 2024, she has served as Executive Advisor to the Planning Board, playing a strategic institutional role and engaging with government authorities, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and market participants to advance innovation, operational efficiency, and regulatory alignment in the Brazilian electricity sector.
