Pamela R. D. Pontius is a career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State and currently serves as First Secretary – Energy at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. In this role, she leads and supports initiatives that strengthen collaboration between the United States and India across a wide range of energy areas, including renewable energy, clean technologies, hydrogen, biofuels, nuclear power, critical minerals, and energy storage. At the Embassy, she engages closely with government agencies, industry leaders, and research institutions to promote bilateral partnerships, facilitate technology transfer, and encourage investment in energy infrastructure and innovation. Her wo rk contributes to broader U.S.–India cooperation on energy security, clean energy transition, and sustainable development. Pontius has also participated in industry briefings and policy dialogues with stakeholders from both countries, helping shape discussions on evolving energy policy priorities and opportunities for collaboration in emerging energy technologies and infrastructure development.
