As President, Asia, Amitabh Prasad leads SEW’s growth agenda across the Asia-Pacific region, with responsibility for driving market expansion, digital transformation, and deep, long-term client partnerships. In this role, he works closely with utilities, partners, and industry stakeholders to accelerate sustainable, AI-led transformation across energy and water ecosystems in the region. Amitabh brings over two decades of leadership experience across the energy and telecommunications sectors, with a strong track record of building and scaling complex businesses across global markets. Most recently, he served as CEO of Sterlite Power Brazil, where he built a USD 900 million energy transmission platform for the Vedanta Group. He led end-to-end business operations spanning project execution, fundraising, regulatory engagement, and public relations, while advancing sustainable infrastructure development in one of Latin America’s most dynamic energy markets. Earlier in his career, Amitabh held senior leadership roles at global and regional industry leaders including Ericsson, Bharti Airtel, British Telecom, and Tata DoCoMo. Across these roles, he led large-scale initiatives in supply chain transformation, commercial operations, strategic partnerships, and network expansion across India, Africa, and other emerging markets. His contributions include pioneering Green Bond fundraising for energy transmission projects, designing scalable telecom network models, and establishing Global Capability Centers (GCCs) across India, China, and Eastern Europe—consistently delivering outcomes rooted in sustainability, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Amitabh holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from BIT Sindri and an MBA from FMS Delhi, and has completed executive programs at Kellogg School of Management, ISB, and IIM Calcutta. Based in New Delhi, Amitabh is an active industry speaker and a strong advocate for sustainable infrastructure and innovation.
