Ms. Snigdha Verma Founder & CEO, Global Peepal Policy League Graduated with an MSc. in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, US, in 2010 and started her career at The World Bank - Global Environment Facility and International Finance Corporation in Washington, DC (World Bank 2012) After a decade in the US, moved to rural India and led community-based projects with The Barefoot College (Interview with Sansad TV, 2020). Most recently she was Head of Department for Carbon Credits at a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power, where she successfully registered a Public EV Charging project in Verra Registry and led the issuance of first cycle of VCU credits for a rural LED program. ISGF felicitated her with the Woman in Power Award in 2024. At Abu Dhabi Carbon Forward Middle East in January 2026, Ms. Verma launched her own Climate Finance portfolio with investment interest from Canada, Japan, and the UK. GPPL works on nature based solutions, low methane agriculture, and electric mobility with public authorities in India and Africa. Carbon Pulse UK wrote an article on the announcement. Recently, Ms. Verma received the “Distinguished Service Award - Climate Leadership & Community-Centred Sustainability” from Times of India Foundation. She’s also been nominated as the Vice Chair and India lead for World Health Innovation Summit, UK.
