Nick Singh
Head of the Smart Grid CoE, Eskom RT&

Nick Singh has more than 27 years of experience, specialising in Smart Grids and Control Systems. He leads a team of engineers and scientists, and facilitates laboratories in the Smart Grid domain, equipped to service the requirements of the power utility, which starts at Generation, Transmission, and Distribution ending at the customer. Nick is key to the role out of systems within Eskom and the assembly & manufacturing at Komati PowerStation which is being repurposed in Eskom’s Just Energy transition. He currently holds the position of Head of Smart Grids Centre of Expertise and Microgrid Programme Director at Eskom Research Testing and Development. Nick has extensive experience in the Field of Electronic Engineering and Project Management; Graduate School of Business Leadership (UNISA, SBL), and Wits Business School (Strategy execution) and is the lead on multiple Smart Grid Collaborations between local and international countries. He is a Global Smart Energy Federation (GSEF) Board member and is the GSEF Ambassador for Anglo Phonic Africa.
