Vikas Gaba is Partner and National Head – Power and Utilities for KPMG in India with over 20 years of experience in managing complex, and large-scale power sector transformation programs across South Asia. He brings deep expertise in developing business strategies, policy, regulation, institutional strengthening, private sector participation (PSP) frameworks, governance strengthening, structural and market reforms, turnaround plans, implementation handholding, capacity building, and training. Vikas has worked extensively across all segments of the power sector, including generation, renewable energy, transmission, distribution, power markets, fuels, energy efficiency and emerging segments such as storage, electric vehicles (EVs), new technologies, and smart grids. Vikas has a strong familiarity with the power sector across South Asia, including direct experience in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Southern African Power Pool, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, and Yemen. He has a proven track record of leading engagements and working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Ministries, country governments, public and private utilities, regulatory authorities, academic institutions, multi-lateral and bi-lateral institutions, and non-government institutions. Vikas holds a Masters degree in Business Economics and Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
