B A Sawale
Director General, Central Power Research Institute (CPRI)

B. A. Sawale is the Director General of CPRI and Chairman of the Board at the National High Power Testing Laboratory, Bina. With over 34 years at CPRI, he has played a key role in research and standardization. He chairs the ETD13 Sectional Committee under BIS and has been actively involved in standardization for 25 years. He is also the Chairman of the Doctoral Committee at CPRI’s Research Centre under Vishweshwaraya Technological University. Internationally, he is a member of IEC TC 13 and its Working Groups 11, 14, and 15. Recognized for his contributions, he received the IEC 1906 Award in 2023. He has also led Indian expert delegations to IEC plenary and working group meetings across Europe
