Atalanta Kar (AK) is the General Manager for Growth Markets at GE Vernova’s Electrification Software (Grid) business, overseeing Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent. A highly accomplished executive, he brings over two decades of experience in the global consulting and technology services industry. His expertise spans global revenue and P&L management, business transformation, advisory, large-scale program execution, and driving strategic growth initiatives. A significant part of his career has been dedicated to Energy, Utilities, and Natural Resources sectors across ANZ, Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and the UK, where he has successfully led technology-driven business transformation programs. As a thought leader, AK partners with energy companies worldwide, helping them navigate the challenges of energy transition and decarbonization. A technology and industry practitioner, he is passionate about applying technology and data to unlock trapped value in energy industry ecosystems. With global experience across diversified markets, he is deeply committed to building, coaching, and mentoring cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary teams. His leadership is rooted in a strong advocacy for diversity and inclusion. AK holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from IIT Kharagpur and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Production Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.He currently resides in Pune, India, with his wife Saswati and daughter Aarin.
