Former Executive Director, PGCIL
Arun Kumar Mishra is a seasoned power sector professional with over 35 years of experience in grid operations, smart grid technologies, and regulatory frameworks in India. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra (1985) and an Advanced Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (1999). He has held several senior leadership positions, including Director at Uttar Pradesh State Load Dispatch Centre (2023--2025), Executive Director and Chief Information Security Officer at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (2022--2023), and CEO of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (2021--2022). His expertise spans smart grid implementation, IoT-based grid state awareness, and real-time dynamic state measurement systems. He has contributed to standardization efforts through the Bureau of Indian Standards LITD-10 committee and international technical work under International Electrotechnical Commission TC 57, and has authored papers on economic dispatch, future grid control centers, and SCADA/EMS systems. He currently serves as a member of the BIS Sectional Committee LITD-10 on Power System Control and Associated Communications as well as IEC TC 57 WG14 and the System Committee on Smart Energy.
