Senior Director, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
Jeevan Kumar (J. K.) Jethani is a distinguished Senior Director and Scientist-F at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in the power and renewable energy sectors. A veteran strategist, he has been a core architect in the formulation and implementation of transformative national policies, including the National Solar Mission and diverse regulatory frameworks that have catalyzed India's renewable energy growth. His deep technical proficiency spans the entire energy value chain, from power generation and transmission to complex distribution networks, honed through his foundational roles with the Rural Electrification Corporation and his work in Rajasthan. In his current leadership capacity, Dr. Jethani spearheads critical national programs, including Rooftop Solar and Off-grid Solar initiatives. He is instrumental in the execution of flagship schemes such as the PM-KUSUM project, the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, and frameworks for Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) livelihood applications.
