Prior to his current role, he was the Vice President & Business Unit Manager for Power Generation & Water business in India. In this role, he managed several teams including engineering, operations, sales, after sales support, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance and health & safety. He spearheaded strategic initiatives for cost reduction, managing internal part- nerships, strengthening customer engagement and introduction of new offerings in the Indian market. In his earlier roles, he had led several key projects in the transitioning of Power Generation and Water business from fossil fuel to renewables. He led the automation and digitalization initiatives for some of India’s biggest environmentally impactful projects, including the Adani Kamuthi solar project, which was featured in Nat Geo’s documentary series Megastruc- tures, in 2016. In 2017, he led the KPCL Sharavathy hydro project in Karnataka, for which ABB received the Karnataka Power Award from the government. His other noteworthy projects include an initiative that contributed to cleaner water supply in Bengaluru, and a desalination project for supplying drinking water in Chennai. Ahmad has also led major assignments in the US, Germany and Switzerland, and was a recipient of ABB Global CEO Safety Award in 2017 & 2018. Ahmad graduated in Electronics & Communication engineering from Aligarh University and holds a post graduate degree in Software Systems from BITS, Pilani. He is a fitness enthusiast and has participated in various marathons in Mumbai, Delhi, and Ladakh. He also en- joys fishing in his leisure time.
