Ashok Kumar is an ITS officer of 1993 batch. He has done bachelor of engineering in Electronics and MBA (Marketing). He is presently working NTIPRIT since July2020. As part of his present assignment he has prepared over 50 hours of technical sessions on 5G mobile communications for telecom professions of the department and delivered the course for officers of ITS and other services. He has also been delivering his sessions in Webinars series on “Emerging trends in 5G” being organised by NTIPRIT to create awareness and Education about 5G in the country. He has designed, developed and conducted first batch of 12 weeks /36 hours certificate course in 5G for officers of Department of Telecommunication. As member of the Expert Group created by Government of India to design and develop Education and Awareness training Program on 5G for Bureaucrats, Training Institutes Engineering collage etc, he has contributed significantly in fulfilling the mandate given to Expert Group. During his 7 years deputation to UIDAI, he contributed in creating enabling policy, process and guidelines to expand the eco system and keep them viable and healthy resulting in achieving the mammoth task of enrolling over 90% of population of India. He represented India (nominated by Ministry of Communications, Government of India) as a speaker on “Plans and Lessons Learnt for National Digital ID” in 19th APT Policy & Regulatory Forum (PRF-19) in Bhutan. As part of India contribution for the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO)), he delivered 5 days course on “WiMAX Planning and RF Engineering" in Johannesburg, South Africa to participants from 23 Commonwealth countries. He has worked in DoT/BSNL in the field of planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, operation & maintenance of Mobile Telecommunications and other telecom technologies.
