Vineeta Agarwal is currently working as Senior General Manager for Smart Grid activities in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. She has more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of Substation Installation & Commissioning, Implementation of SCADA System, Power System Operation & Smart Grid activities. She is involved in various research activities and also a member of CIGRE, India. She has varied experience of working in field as site engineer for erection, testing and commissioning for 400kV Mandola substation and 220kV Kishenpur substation. She has established test lab for testing transformer oil parameters and meter calibration at Moga substation. Vineeta Agarwal has worked in various Load Despatch Centre for establishment of SCADA/EMC system. She was core team member in installation, testing & commissioning of SCADA system at Northern Region Load Despatch Centre. The system was subsequently operated & maintained by her for 7 years. She was site-in charge for the implementation of National Load Despatch Centre for integrated monitoring of combined all India transmission network. She was involved in conceptualisation of Unified Real Time Dynamic State Measurement (URTDSM) Project for implementation of Phasor Measurement Unit(PMU) on PAN India basis. Under the project Phasor Measurement Unit were installed across all India ISTS network and 220kV and above generation for real time dynamic state measurement and control of Indian Grid. Now involved in research & development activity with IIT-Bombay to develop PMU based analytics which are being installed at all state & central load despatch centres for reliable & secured operation of state & central grid. She has designed & conceptualised 13 no. of Renewable Energy Management Centre (REMCs) for renewable rich states in country. These REMCs are now operational & helping in forecasting the renewables at state & central level. Presently working on deployment of Smart Grid solutions like Advance Metering Infrastructure, Outage Management Systems, integrated AC Micro grid, EV charging facilities etc for Indian Grid. Actively involved in deployment of different EV chargers at Metro Stations, Indian Oil outlets etc. to promote Electric Vehicle penetration in country. She has established unique state-of-art knowledge center for imparting hands-on training on latest smart grid technologies and conducted various training sessions for different stakeholder.
