Manoj Kumar Upadhyay is currently working as a Deputy Adviser in Energy Vertical, NITI Aayog Government of India. He has been working on Government Policy & Regulation in Environmental Economics & Climate Change, Renewable Energy Generation, Conventional Energy Generation [Thermal (Coal & Gas), Hydro and Nuclear], Transmission & Distribution System, Allocation & Supply of Coal, Gas and Petroleum Products. Along with these portfolios, he is also looking after international cooperation & investment in energy sector. Mr. Upadhyay is assisting MNRE to prepare National Green Hydrogen Mission. He was extensively involved in preparation of National Programme for Advance Chemistry Cell & Battery Storage. He is also looking after successful implementation of several schemes/programes of MNRE, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs. Mr. Upadhyay is coordinating with State Government, thinks tanks, private sector, international institutions and inter-governmental organization and funding agencies like World Bank, Asia Development Bank etc. Before joining NITI Aayog, Mr. Upadhyay was working with the Ministry of Micro Small Medium Enterprises as Assistant Director (Industrial Management). He was instrumental in establishing the Techno-Managerial Consultancy to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. In addition, Mr. Upadhyay also worked with different private/MNC organizations on different capacities such as project manager, product designing manager etc. Mr. Upadhyay is B.Tech in Electrical Engg, MBA in Marketing & MA (Sociology), Phd (Management)-pursuing and a trained consultant in Environment Impact Assessment of projects, Project Management & Energy Conservation. Mr. Upadhyay has published several articles and research paper in various magazine, generals and newspaper. He appeared in several debates on the National Door Darshan News, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV for officiating and seconding Government of India views on several issues.
