Tanushree Bhowmik is a Energy and Gender Consultant with the World Bank. She has 20 years of experience providing management and analytical support for energy and infrastructure projects with particular expertise in community based planning, monitoring and increasing gender diversity in the sectors. She has worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia, United Nations Development Programme and Government of India. She has played key roles in implementing the the first of its kind project on increasing women’s participation in regional trade and infrastructure in South Asia, evaluating social and gender impacts of rural electrification programs in India, and reducing distribution losses through women led rural franchises. Tanushree is currently the Partnership Coordinator for WePOWER in India.
